STYRENIC BLOCK COPOLYMERS TAILORED TO YOUR NEEDS
Americhem’s Sevrene® styrenic block copolymers represent years of compounding solutions developed to help extruders, injection and blow molders realize the efficiencies of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) with distinct structural advantages. Sevrene® can be customized for ideal stiffness and resistance to heat, ozone and UV light. Compared to traditional thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs), Sevrene® delivers better processing and appearance due to its all-thermoplastic, tri-block system. Greater tear strength – especially at durometers 55 Shore A and below – can also be expected from our custom colorable polymers that consistently outperform off-the-shelf products.

RUBBER-LIKE CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE RIGHT FEEL
Americhem knows how to bring textures alive. We can modify our Sevrene® formulations to create the haptics, or surface feel, that your customers expect from a high-quality product. Whether you are aiming for slippery, smooth or sure-grip comfort, the rubber-like characteristics of styrene block copolymers allow us to improve tactile experiences for increased satisfaction.
COLOR TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP THAT GIVES CREATIVITY A BOOST
No other SBC manufacturer understands the visual discipline of color like Americhem. Our color technology leadership can be utilized to access a wide range of highly weatherable colors for both interior and exterior applications. We know that color plays a decisive role in your customers’ selection process, and we will work with your design team to help boost creativity within our Sevrene® offering.
THE INS AND OUTS OF SEVRENE®
Sevrene® is an all-thermoplastic tri-block compound that is produced by combining styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS) rubber, polypropylene and oil in a twin-screw extruder. Other raw materials, such as filler, colorant, lubricants, compatibilizers and haptic agents can also be added to achieve the desired end-product characteristics. Americhem supplies Sevrene® in easy-to-process pellets delivered in bulk or in gaylords. Because SBC polymers have good chemical resistance to water, acids and bases but poor resistance to hydrocarbon-based oils, fuels and solvents, our material science experts will collaborate to ensure that Sevrene® thermoplastic compounds are the most suitable for your application.
